Christine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Park University, a Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, and a Special Education Teaching Credential (Education Specialist in Mild to Moderate Disabilities) from Loyola Marymount University. Christine's comprehensive training is integral to helping families navigate the state and school systems, advocating on behalf of special needs children at the School District's SST & IEP Meetings (Eligibility, Annual and Tri-Annuals) and The Regional Center's IFSPs, IPPs, and Appeals. Additionally, she is trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy but embraces a combination of both ABA, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Floortime (DIR/Play Therapy). In 2013, Christine set forth on a quest to combine her passion for advocacy with her love of education. She began privately tutoring students struggling in school but quickly realized that their poor grades were a often a symptom that something else was wrong: a behavior challenge, learning difference, social skills need, or family dynamic concern. In response to this overwhelming need, she combined Academic Support, Behavior Management, and Education Advocacy to bridge the gap between home and school services. Christine founded Terry Tutors Specialized Education Services on the premise that collaboration between the parent, the school and the state is the key to a student's success story.
